Toshiba 52HM94 52”³ DLP RPTV
[Archived in Dlp, Entry, Toshiba]
[HDBlog.net] Sound & Vision magazine has reviewed the Toshiba 52HM94 52”³ DLP RPTV. With a bit of tweaking, Toshibas 52HM94 DLP HDTV is capable of delivering stunning pictures. And its wide viewing angle lets the whole family enjoy the same bright image and vibrant color from any seat on the couch. Unfortunately, Toshibas problems with the TV Guide On Screen feature could be a serious issue for anyone who expects to use a Cable CARD or purchase the optional Symbio hard-disk recorder. But if, like me, you already have a high-def cable box with a hard-disk video recorder, youll find a lot to like here. Link: Sound & Vision - Toshiba 52-inch DLP HDTV...

[CJC.org] Gizmodo is Hiring an Editor: The xxHM84 line is the earlier one; for a couple hundred dollars more, you can get the xxHM94 line, which will have cable card functionality as well as a few other features. The picture’s nice and bright and very cinematic: the HD2+ chip keeps “clay faces” away and the seven-segment color wheel reduces the chance of seeing DLP rainbows. I actually have the 46HM84 – the first two digits are the TV sizes – because everything gets thrown through the Tivo, anyway, so I need the TV to be more a monitor than a self-contained unit.
[Engadget.com] Toshibas first three 1080p DLP rear projection TVs - Engadget ...: Toshiba also announed their first three 1080p DLP rear projection TVs today, the 56-inch 56HM195, the 62-inch 62HM195, and the 72-inch (you guessed it) 72HM195. All three are CableCARD ready, and have a built-in memory card reader for looking at digital photos, dual HDMI ports, and a FireWire port if you want to attach one of Toshiba’s optional 160GB Symbio HD Recorders. Both the 56HM195 and the 62HM195 should be out by August, with the 72HM195 to follow a month later. (Can’t find any pics at the moment, but they’ll turn up sooner or later.)

[Extremetech.com] InFocus 61md10 61-inch DLP RPTV Review by ExtremeTech: InFocus has devised an two-bounce reflection and optical system with a screen that allows its chassis' depth to be just seven inches, though the stand does add about another six inches to hold the unit steady. This chassis is light-engine agnostic, so while InFocus is using DLP as its current light engine, if an LCoS-based light engine came to market that could outgun DLP, InFocus could swap out its DLP-based light engine for the replacement technology. Today we look at InFocus' 61-inch 61md10 RPTV, and while our eyeballs liked it, our colorimeters liked it less. Continued...
[Extremetech.com] InFocus 61md10 61-inch DLP RPTV Review by ExtremeTech: But it's still put a pretty good wallop on your wallet. Note that somewhat less thin, 61-inch DLP rear projection HDTVs can be found at well under $4,000, with some offering better picture quality. If you're in the market for a big picture HDTV, the 61md10 is worth a long gander, but you should spend some time with DVD material you're familiar with, and tweak the OSD settings to see if the 61md10's overall picture quality is pleasing to your eyes. If you like what you see, then the 61md10 will bring the Big Screen right into living room.
