Compare Prices and Read Reviews on Samsung HLN567W 56 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television at Epinions.com (#)

„I will not delve too much into a discussion of the merits and Pros and Cons of these technologies. Suffice it to say that I was leaning toward DLP based HDs, specifically Samsung's because my research has led me to believe that it will perform better (than the CRT and LCD based RPTVs) when hooked up to a PC. I intend hook up my PC so I can play PC games on this unit too.“

„Every once in a while, I come across a person who is really passionate about technology and decides to do something well organized with that passion. I don't know Arun Gupta personally but I came across his FAQ's on AVSForum.com while looking for details on Samsung's DLP RPTV upgrade program . Here are a few links to Arun's FAQ's:“

Million tiny mirrors (#)

„...".  The comment about this being an ad is mistaken.  We have NO relationship with any vendors.  The page equally covers all of the vendors in the DLP RPTV market.  Samsung just happens to be far ahead of others at this point.“

„Genoa is working with Philips to market 5-color front and rear projection systems based on the above technology. Samsung is also planning on offering a five-color DLP-RPTV, expected in 2005.“

HDTVs: Sharper, Bigger, Better

HDTVs have high resolutions that yield incredibly lifelike pictures, wide screens to accommodate the 16:9 aspect ratio of HD programming and DVD movies, and Dolby Digital decoding for theater-quality audio. Here are the choices--flat-panel or projection, you can't go wrong.

Flat-panel LCD TVs: LCD flat-panels offer bright, crisp picture quality, are highly energy-efficient, have 60,000-hour life spans, and come in a range of screen sizes, though all under 50 inches.

Flat-panel plasma TVs: Plasma flat-panels have extremely accurate picture detail, high brightness, wide viewing angles, and large, wall-mountable screens--from 37 to over 60 inches.

Projection TVs: Your big-screen choices are CRT, LCD, DLP, and LCoS. The first two are tried-and-true technologies; DLP and LCoS are hot microdisplay technologies that provide superb picture detail and brightness in lighter-weight cabinets.
