PC World Reviews Plasmas

[Archived in Entry, Philips]

[HDBlog.net] The LG Electronics set has good features but a few display problems, while the NEC’s forte is definitely display quality. The Pioneer is a little uneven in performance, the Panasonic has a good image but is otherwise lacking, and the Philips has good colour but is missing some features.

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

[Hdblog.net] HDBlog.net: Because of the volume of next-generation gaming console news being posted here I’ve decided to break them out into a separate website, PS3Blog.net. Don’t let the name fool you! You’ll get all the same posts about the next-gen consoles as you’ve been enjoying so far.

Coudal.comhttp://www.coudal.com [Coudal.com] Coudal Partners: According to the “Spa Vitale” brochure, “Your loving dependent animal may have absorbed, not only your stress, but have some of their own.” And for $75 per hour, your pet can experience increased blood circulation, improved flexibility and concentration (because when your pet is lying on a couch, it needs to focus,) less anxiety and stress (because when your pet is lying on a couch, well it can be pretty stressful.) Within the hour massage, your pet will have time to become acquainted with their massage therapist, receive a massage, and if time allows, the pet’s owner will be taught a new trick or two (which I’m not sure I want to know about.) And by the way, all animals must have up-to-date vaccinations, must have recently eaten and NOT have aggression issues.

HDTVs: Sharper, Bigger, Better

HDTVs have high resolutions that yield incredibly lifelike pictures, wide screens to accommodate the 16:9 aspect ratio of HD programming and DVD movies, and Dolby Digital decoding for theater-quality audio. Here are the choices--flat-panel or projection, you can't go wrong.

Flat-panel LCD TVs: LCD flat-panels offer bright, crisp picture quality, are highly energy-efficient, have 60,000-hour life spans, and come in a range of screen sizes, though all under 50 inches.

Flat-panel plasma TVs: Plasma flat-panels have extremely accurate picture detail, high brightness, wide viewing angles, and large, wall-mountable screens--from 37 to over 60 inches.

Projection TVs: Your big-screen choices are CRT, LCD, DLP, and LCoS. The first two are tried-and-true technologies; DLP and LCoS are hot microdisplay technologies that provide superb picture detail and brightness in lighter-weight cabinets.
