How TiVo and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition saved my life

„Now I will concur that when the preview for the show first came out I was about as into it as watching The Swan for pete's sake, but flipping thru the channels one night I came across it, left it there and soon found myself mesmerized, taken in, enthralled with the destruction, marveling at the European bathroom tiles and plasma tv's and then at minute :42, as if on cue, I started to cry, nay sob, as the homeowners returned from their wonderful trip to Disneyworld to find their whole house completely transformed.“

„So TiVo could build a CableCARD unit today that recorded cable HDTV, but the market is still in its infancy so they're not really late to market or anything. Last year I was hoping we might see something by this Xmas, now I think it is more likely mid-2005 before we see one.“http://ask.pvrblog.com/2004/10/ hdtvenabled_tiv.html - Cached

„I know that the current Series 2 TiVos don't current support HDTV (although DirectTV has an HDTV-enabled version for its subscribers). Have there been any hints about if and when TiVo would launch standalone TiVo units that support over-the-air HDTV, or HDTV over cable? I'm trying to decide to upgrade from Series 1 to Series 2 to get TivoToGo features, or hold off. I'm hoping for an HDTV TiVo that would work well as the tuner for an HDTV plasma display.“http://ask.pvrblog.com/tv_hdtv/ index.html#a0002555793 - Cached

„It's a slimmed down, somewhat cheaper version of the Radeon X800XT. If you're satisfied with your current DirectX 9compatible video card but long for high-definition television, the ATI HDTV Wonder could be your ticket to contented couch warming. This four-star card is a 70-channel receiver for broadcast (although not cable) HDTV, handles standard-definition TV, comes with a remote and a slew of extras, but costs less than $200.“http://www.pcmag.com/article2/ 0,1759,1625133,00.asp - Cached
