[ www.techbay.net] BenQ is emphasising its new 17in TFT as a stylish display, boasting that it takes monitor design to another level. With a response time of 25ms, the FP72V is not aimed at gamers, but it works to an SXGA resolution of 1,280 x 1,024, has a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and can display up to 16.7 million colours, and allows a viewing angle of 178 degrees. The unit includes D-Sub, digital DVI-D ports and three USB 2.0 connectors. There is also BenQs Senseye technology for clear digital imaging, and there is a detachable web camera for remote communications...

A quick refresher: it’s the one with Senseye, that ambient-light sensing auto-contrast / brightness control system; it’s also got a 1000:1 contrast ratio, integrated USB 2.0 hub, and attachable speakers and webcam. We might like if they’d take it upon themselves to break out a 17-inch screen that’s not merely SXGA (1280 x 1024) but we’ll find a way to go on living.
